Seneca Polytechnic is seeking partners for the Innovation Work-Integrated Learning (InnWIL) program, designed to provide students with hands-on experience developing intrapreneurial skills by tackling real-world challenges.  


Students will work in specialized or interdisciplinary teams to launch a new product / service or improve an existing product / service through market research and the development of a comprehensive, innovative launch plan.  

 

Students can come from various backgrounds, including but not limited to business, marketing, human resources, software engineering, software development, technology management, database applications, cybersecurity, data science & analytics, accounting & finance, financial planning, and child development. 

 

All students bring a strong foundation in problem-solving, research, and project management, along with experience using design and systems thinking methodologies.

Résultats et livrables attendus

Course Objectives:

  • Develop intrapreneurial management and growth techniques through strategic plans and product validation research to prepare for product launch
  • Gain knowledge of educational resources to support intrapreneurial growth
  • Develop knowledge about key challenges facing an intrapreneur at different stages in the growth cycle
  • Understand different tools/models that can be used to minimize risk at different stages of the intrapreneurial journey
  • Identify possible funding sources, streams and/or structures that could be applied to your business
  • Topics covered include ideation, strategic thinking, creative brainstorming, prototyping & validation, marketing, sales, project management and pitching ideas


Deliverables:


Phase 1 – Problem analysis and work plan using qualitative and quantitative data, internal analysis of the organization and external factor analysis of the industry 

Phase 2 – Investigative process, trend identification, evidence-based recommendations 

Phase 3 – Written report and final pitch presentation where learners present their recommended solution and answer questions
