We are rolling an ongoing social science research to practice project from an institutional base to be it's own entity. We need someone to explore the different registration options in Canada and their implications both in terms of cost, legality, tax (internal). Our goal is to gain clarity on the right legal structure e.g. nonprofit, corporation, B-corp, foundation for our new entity. The task is three-part:

1. Research the options for formally incorporating e.g. company, B-corp, non-profit

2. identify the internal implications of each option e.g. financial, internal systems-process etc. At minimum identify the questions I need to ask to whom e.g. accountant, financial advisor etc.

Deliverable would be a two part report - options, implications and recommendations. Ideally this would be completed by the end of May, but there is some room to discuss this if necessary.
