Over a 10-week period, student groups will assess an existing program of your organization's choosing, to develop a program plan, implementation plan and evaluation framework using a logic model. Specifically, students may evaluate program effectiveness, program development, resource allocation and policy development.

Note: The Milestones listed in this assignment align with the semester's learning outcomes. If required, they can be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the company.

Résultats et livrables attendus

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. They will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Report and Presentation: Students will submit a detailed report (10-12 pages) and present on the outcomes of the project and recommendations. This may include an updated policy document, the outline for a new program, or other deliverables as agreed upon.

Exemples de projets

Project examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing a strategy for a healthcare provider to attract and retain new talent. This hiring and employee retention program would provide targeted insight from your target applicants.
  • Developing a strategy to reduce wait times and enhance client/patient satisfaction for a target area within a health organization.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of a home monitoring program to support family caregivers in the community.
  • Creating a policy for a health provider that addresses health equity tailored to community needs for health and well-being.

The project process will include three (3) phases:

  • Program Plan (e.g. problem definition and population identification; create goals and objectives; identify relevant program theories)
  • Program Planning Report, including developing a logic model and Implementation Plan (e.g. budget, staffing, timeline)
  • Evaluation Plan
